In 2026, Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery, the historic country home designed and built by Sir John Soane in leafy Ealing, will celebrate the work of one of the Chamber’s own members, Marthe Armitage.

A leading UK artist, Armitage is bringing her unique interpretation of nature to the Manor. The exhibition, titled Marthe Armitage: Pattern Maker, runs from 19 March to 19 July 2026. It explores repetition, symmetry, and the relationship between the natural and man-made worlds.

The Art of the Pattern Maker

Now aged 95, Marthe is renowned for her hand-drawn, hand-printed patterns created in her Chiswick studio. This exhibition traces her artistic process from initial sketches and lino blocks to finished wallpapers and textiles. Her designs are deeply rooted in the landscapes and architectural details of her local surroundings, where she and her family have lived since 1939.

This focused display brings together original drawings, prints, and large-scale installed wallpapers, offering an intimate insight into the life of an artist whose designs have quietly shaped British interiors for more than half a century.

A major new national touring project, The National Gallery: Art On Your Doorstep, is bringing life-size reproductions of world-class masterpieces to Brentford. Running from 4 September 2026 to 14 February 2027, the exhibition is a partnership between the National Gallery and Creative Mile, the Brentford Art Trail.

Up to 30 reproductions will be displayed in public parks, high streets, and community spaces. These high-quality prints allow visitors to see brushstrokes and hidden details in fine detail. By placing art in everyday locations, the project celebrates the creativity and identity of Brentford, inviting residents to encounter historic masterpieces in their own neighbourhood.

Connecting People and Environments to Thrive

Success in sport and success in business are increasingly aligned. Ella Amory, a professional player for Trailfinders Women and founder of Offload, believes the secret to both is community.

Her mission is to connect the right people to the right environments so they can thrive. This philosophy mirrors the work of the West London Chamber of Commerce by creating opportunities through meaningful introductions. Ella notes that while skills and knowledge are vital, community is what gets you into the right rooms.

Offload aims to level the playing field for athletes by building networks that support both sporting careers and life beyond the game. The West London Chambers of Commerce are proud partners of Ealing Trailfinders Rugby Club and official player sponsors of Ella Amory.
